Trump is determined to create chaos with his trade wars and economic nationalism. Starmer’s and Reeves’ continuing and increasingly severe austerity measures are fuelling the rise of the far-right. The right to protest is under attack. The world is engaged in a ramping up of the arms race. This means there is an urgent need to build a strong socialist organisation to push for the widest possible resistance and put the case for change.
