Counterfire has launched an appeal to help spread socialist ideas and organisation to every corner of the country
Thanks to everyone who has donated since our crowdfunder was launched, taking us to 17% of the target of £20,000 in just a few days. This is a great start.
As the threat of a wider war in the Middle East looms large, this weekend we will be distributing thousands of copies of our free paper on demonstrations and protests around the country. Our paper carries the arguments activists need to take on the warmongers and the right wing and to push for a broader, stronger movement.
This month’s paper carries a piece by Kevin Ovenden on the cracks in the US monolith, Steph Pike’s analysis of the new debate on abortion rights, and an interview with Independent socialist candidate Michael Lavalette about challenging Starmer’s Labour in the North West.
We have produced and distributed just under 100,000 copies of the paper over the last few months and there is a growing demand for us to send it to every corner of the country. One of the reasons we have launched the crowdfunder is to meet this demand by upping our print run and strengthening our distribution system.
Everywhere the paper goes, socialist organisation can grow.

We need to raise £20,000 as we are having to expand operations. We are moving to a bigger, better central office, upping our print run and distribution, buying a new printer, new computers and employing more staff.
