Tom Whittaker gives a sharp introduction on how Thatcher was toppled and what lessons activists today can learn in kicking the Tories out

The rebellion against Margaret Thatcher’s hated Community Charge (Poll Tax) brought her time as Prime Minister to an abrupt and bitter end.

Thatcher had narrowly survived the riots of 1981 and strikes by miners and printers in the mid 80s, but this time the size and scale of the demonstrations and campaign of non-payment would prove too much for her.
