Tuesday the 12th of April the staff and students of Newcastle College stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity against the outrageous cuts to the teaching staff as well as other staff in the institution.

In all there is 171 planed posts to be axed this includes 124 teachers, but their Principal Dame Jackie Fisher earned £259,772 in 2009/10 — 30% more than the previous year
