Steve Leadbeater reports from Carrington power station which has been shut down in an action by Unite rank and file activists
The site of the new Carrington power station was today shut down by a picket against blacklisting on the site.
Local construction workers put a picket on the site entrance and stopped a coach carrying workers entering the site.
Some workers were on the picket line and others got off the coach and joined the picket line.
The remaining workers in the coach were sent back to the car park and the following coaches were cancelled.
The workers at the car park agreed to disperse for the day and return tomorrow.
A meeting is expected tomorrow morning to discuss the action. There is clearly blacklisting in operation now and we intend to expose it and stop it.
The fight starts here and we are not going away. This is one we can not afford to lose!
