Bristol – Spycops: the state Vs democracy, protest and justice
After 10 years, the Spycops Inquiry enters its third phase—exposing systemic surveillance of justice campaigns, anti-war groups, and left-wing activism.
Speakers and Core Participants at the Undercover Policing Inquiry:
Eleanor Fairbraida
A long-time environmental and social justice activist. She was active in Earth First! and helped organise out of the volunteer-run Sumac Centre in Nottingham, a hub for grassroots resistance and community organising. Her environmental work continues as co-ordinator for the Really Wild Lockleaze Project.
Tom Fowler
A veteran activist from South Wales, Tom has been involved in anarchist organising, anti-racist work, and campaigns for civil liberties since the early 2000s. He now hosts SpyCops.Info, a podcast documenting the inquiry and the wider impact of political policing in Britain.
Lindsey German
Founding member of both the Stop the War Coalition and Counterfire. Lindsey has spent decades organising around anti-war, anti-racist, and feminist causes. She is giving evidence in all phases of the inquiry examining the historic actions of the Special Demonstration Squad (SDS) and the National Public Order Intelligence Unit (NPOIU).
