UnionNews reports on the first strike in the 65 year history of the specialised agency for disabled workers in the UK, Remploy.
Dozens of GMB members have picketed two Remploy factories – in Glasgow and Chesterfield – in protest at the introduction of what unions say is a two-tier workforce.
The non-disabled workers have been employed on lesser wages and worse terms and conditions than those employed directly by Remploy.
In a ballot, more than 90% of staff voted to strike against the threat of privatisation.
