Protesters assembled opposite Leeds General Infirmary to leaflet against the planned privatisation of the NHS and for the March from St. James to the LGI 28th May.
The protest was made up of over 50 health workers, including student doctors, nurses, care workers and service users as well as local trade unionists, students and activists. We marched into Leeds City centre – leafleting as we went – and continued despite police attempts to stop us. We leafleted outside Harvey Nichols for 40 minutes and distributed over 2000 leaflets for the forthcoming demonstration. Campaigners are going all out for the 28th demo.
