Brighton – SUTR counter- demonstration against the far right

Save the date – Saturday 8 August – as far right threaten to return to try and march again in Brighton

Incredibly but perhaps not totally surprisingly given the humiliation of 13 June where some 4000 anti-racists stopped 200 odd far right from marching in Brighton, despite the best efforts of the police, the Sussex far right are determined to try and get revenge and have called another ‘march for deportations – stop the boats – send them home’ event in Brighton on Saturday 8 August to try and divide our multicultural community.  Ominously ‘March for England’ have said this will not be ‘a child friendly event’ – the far right are intent on once again trying to bring racist violence to our streets as they did recently in Southampton and the pogrom in Belfast.  We do not know where they are planning to assemble yet – but it is unlikely to be the train station given how they were kettled essentially by thousands of us when they tried there.  We have called a counter demonstration – please share widely and if your organisation or trade union would like to back this please let us know on [email protected] – please share widely and save the date – let’s make sure the far right once again get the message that refugees and migrants are welcome in our city – racists and fascists who wish to divide us and bring hatred and violence here are not welcome.

Unite against the far right – refugees and migrants welcome here – Saturday 8 August meet 11am location
