Counterfire is about to provide a cultural space, a meeting place, a place to hold training and educational events; and a cafe, right in the heart of central London.

We need your help and involvement in lots of ways. One of them is funding. Counterfire was set up on 8 March 2010 and already we have played a crucial role in the student revolts, building solidarity with the Arab revolutions, supporting Occupy LSX and more.

This success reflects a huge demand for practical politics and coordinated resistance against austerity and war.

Publications, meetings, protests: these all cost. And the only income we get is from our members and supporters. So we are asking you to do two things:

1. Please take out a standing order to Counterfire immediately to ensure we have a consistent and stable income. If you have done this already, please consider increasing your current payment.
2. Please donate to our appeal so we can prepare for what will be a profound and decisive year ahead.

Donations will go towards the opening of our new cultural cafe project and to a complete revamping of the Counterfire site together totalling many thousands of pounds.

• A £5 per month standing order for a year will pay for 1 month of website overheads
• £15 per month for a year will pay for 5000 postcards to promote events
• £30 per month for a year will pay for half an order of full-colour broadsheets
• £500 will pay for a computer terminal
• £1,000 will pay for an editing suite to hold training sessions
