Unison members working in critical care at Salford Royal, Royal Oldham and Fairfield Hospital have been striking since May with a 98% mandate over cuts to overtime pay by the Northern Care Alliance Foundation Trust.
The NHS workers say the trust is forcing staff onto lower paid shifts through a private provider, reducing earnings and pension contributions while relying on experienced staff to maintain safe staffing levels in critical care units. Members are demanding the right to choose overtime rates in line with NHS terms and conditions.
