The PCS union has voted to take strike action over pensions and pay this Wednesday as George Osborne announces another round of austerity measures in the annual Budget

PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said: “This is not a one-day protest, this is the start of a rolling programme of walkouts and disruptive action to put pressure on a government that is refusing to talk to us.”

Protests and rallies are taking place across the country. In London there will be a rally outside Parliament as the Budget is announced.

The details are:
12-2pm, Wednesday 20 March, Old Palace Yard (Opposite Parliament), SW1P 3JY.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Pass this model resolution in your trade union branch or organisation
  2. Get local support for the assembly: ask trade unionists, people in campaigns or community organisations, local MPs or councilors or any celebs if they will add their name to the call. Once you have a good spread of support, put the letter with local signatories in the local press.
  3. Organise a public meeting with the local signatories to help build for the assembly and to support local campaigns.
  4. Invite your friends to the Facebook event and for twitter use #peoplesassembly
